Mortgagee Clause

The mortgagee clause is included in a property insurance policy to make sure the insurance company will pay the mortgagee—also known as the lender—if loss or damage occurs to a mortgagor’s, or the borrower’s, property. The clause essentially protects the lender from losing money.
